Have a Relaxing Break With Your RV Camping Equipment

from:

Camping has long been a favorite leisure pastime for American families and this has increased with the growth in the rv camping equipment market. There was a time when camping meant a good old hike carrying a tent and sleeping bag. Nowadays camping can be far more sophisticated for those who want it that way.

In recent years there has been an increasing taste for rv or relaxation vehicle camping. There is now plenty of rv camping equipment available on the market. This type of camping holiday can be enjoyed in a number of different ways depending on your budget and your preference. There are a good number of vehicles that fall under the heading of recreational vehicle – and the type of rv camping equipment that you require will depend on the kind of trip you intend taking and what level of comfort you expect.

RV camping equipment starts with the vehicle itself. This can be a motor home, a caravan, a trailer or a tent trailer. There are also rvs that can be hooked up to your ordinary car like a caravan. People are even converting old vans, buses and trucks into recreational vehicles. There is also the self-contained up to the minute motor home. These recreational vehicles are the land equivalent of canal boats and fitted sailing boats.

When you engage in rv camping you can have all the comforts of home on the road. This means that some companies have a full range of rv camping equipment which is much the same range as you would expect if you were furnishing a small house. For example your mobile home will probably contain a comfortable bed and perhaps even shower or full size cooker and fridge. Some of them will be carpeted and may even contain their own entertainment systems.

RV camping gives you all the comforts and amenities of home when you are on the road. More to the point it is a much cheaper way of holidaying than staying in hotels. Many people find that an investment in a camping vehicle and rv camping equipment is a good investment because they save so much money on future vacations. Taking an rv on the road is as good as having your own traveling motel room wherever you go.

The rv is a self contained unit with many of the more up market vehicles now being equipped with heating and air conditioning systems. They may have their own small generator for electricity or they can be hooked up somewhere and recharged. These vehicles are becoming so sophisticated now that people live in them all the year round – not just on vacation.

ERSKINE: Innovation taking load off backpackers' shoulders

Drew Erskine, son of the Morgan Hill Times outdoors columnist, may have dreamed about ultralight backpacking equipment during a trip above Palisade Lake, near 12,000-foot Mather Pass in Kings Canyon National Park. To get away from it all, consider backpacking

In today’s society, “roughing it” has an entirely different meaning to it than it did 40 years ago. When we of the 21st century “rough it,” that usually means the television networks are doing their summer thing with the programming, and there is nothing to watch on any of the 120 channels we are getting bounced off of a satellite somewhere out in space. Or gasoline prices are flirting with $3 a ...
